Abstract

In my dissertation I analyse the possibility of limestones usage mainly in the cement industry. Based on the cooperation and examination of the issue as a member of the research teams in the given area, I evaluated the mining deposits of the company in which I work, namely Považské cementárne Ltd. Ladce (specifically deposits Hloža-Podhorie, DP Ladce II and exploration areas Ladce Butkov II and Ladce Butkov III). I also evaluated the Lipovník and Včeláre deposits due to the existence of a one-component mining deposit Lietava-Drieňovica. I quote the habilitation work of my supervisor, mainly due to the quality and volume of the raw material in the given locality. In my dissertation I deal with a comprehensive assessment of the sites, based on the results of the geological surveys. Ultimately I provide a comprehensive picture of the usage of Ladce-Butkov deposit until the extraction of its reserves and the possibility of expanding DP Ladce II after the current geological survey stage.
