Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of harmful substances released during the uncontrolled combustion of waste tires. The thesis first introduces the construction, composition, and classification of tires, and further describes methods of handling tires after the end of their service life. The main part focuses on the description of toxic substances released during fires, their health and environmental impacts, and also presents real cases of tire fires in the Czech Republic and abroad. The thesis emphasizes the seriousness of the topic and the necessity of prevention as well as the proper approach to managing this type of waste.
