Abstract

This Master Thesis introduces the history of extraction of brown coal in the Vršany Quarry, and its energetic importance for the entire society. The theoretical part demonstrates how significant the elimination of the mining activities’ aftermaths is. It is dedicated to the methods of restoration, the present condition of the Vršany Quarry and the unfinished plans for its restoration. The practical part is devoted to the economical valorisation and to the choice of appropriate method of restoration for this particular area.
