Abstract
This thesis focuses on the assessment of the influence of generational differences on the motivation and work performance of school employees in the Zlín Region. The aim of this thesis is to find out which motivational factors affect each generation group the most in increasing their work performance and whether there are intergenerational differences between them. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part, where the theoretical part is focused on defining basic concepts such as generation, generational differences, motivation, work performance, motivational factors, etc. In the practical part, the PESTLE analysis is also elaborated, thanks to which it is possible to identify macroeconomic factors influencing the school sector both in the Zlín Region and in the whole Czech Republic. In addition, a questionnaire was compiled for the purpose of fulfilling the set goal, through which it was determined whether generational differences really have an impact on the motivation and work performance of teachers in the Zlín Region. Based on the results, proposals and recommendations were subsequently formulated, thanks to which schools in the Zlín Region could better understand what factors motivate individual generations to higher work performance and how their requirements differ.
