Abstract

KOHLOVÁ, Magda. Design of Security-Oriented Course for High School. [Master´s thesis]. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering, 2026. 54 p. The thesis deals with the issue of education in the field of safety at secondary school and proposes a thematic plan for a new subject entitled “Law and Safety.” The aim of the thesis is to create a systematic and comprehensive concept of teaching that enables the develop-ment of students’ legal and safety literacy, supports key competencies, and prepares them to handle emergency situations. The outcome of the thesis is a proposal for a structured thematic plan of the subject, which includes objectives and expected learning outcomes, thematic units, time allocation, tea-ching methods, and ways of student assessment. The subject offers a connection between theoretical knowledge and practical activities, including simulations of crisis situations, thereby contributing to the effective development of students’ competencies and strengthe-ning the safety culture in society.
