Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of development cooperation, with target to evaluate the assistance provided in the context of development cooperation of the Czech Republic. It should take into consideration the commitments related to membership in international organizations and the European Union.

The first part provides a basic information about developing countries and global problems. Developed countries are showing some kind of solidarity with these countries and provide them with assistance through development cooperation. This is a reason, why the next part of this work concentrates on the development policy at EU level. Then the practical part evaluates the level and quality of assistance provided by the Czech Republic - which are reflected as contributions to international organizations as well as bilateral agreements with individual states. For the evaluation of Czech development cooperation were used information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NGOs and the Supreme Audit Office. Finally, was also assessed public opinion survey, which makes it possible to get an idea of how citizens of the Czech Republic perceive themselves in this area.
