Abstract
The thesis analyzes production process of forged main shafts for wind turbines, comparing the present technologies as well as innovative concepts and progressive technologies of production. Experiment is focused on explanation and reason of rupture initiation in final wind turbine shaft product G114 Slim CIII made in VÍTKOVICE HEAVY MACHINERY a.s. for the repair purpose and prediction of a crack (rupture) initiation. Reason of research is the future production of already mentioned shaft, but research also answers questions about production of different types of wind turbine shafts with similar problems during manufacturing.
