Abstract

This thesis is focused on the description of a proposal and realisation of a system for automated configuration of multiple small network devices. Small network devices are in the form of routers and switches a part of the infrastructure of most metropolitan networks. It is necessary to configure them using the web interface, so this proposed system will greatly simplify the work of system administrators who must manage these networks. The automation system is formed by a set of tools. The first tool is used for recording of the operation, which should be performed in bulk on other small network devices. The second tool in the form of a set of user-customizable scripts is used to edit the recorded operations in a way where altered data correspond to other devices (eg. login passwords etc.). Files with the following modified recorded operations are then input to a third tool, which executes them. Using a script from the above-mentioned set of scripts, this tool can be used multiple times for multiple network devices.
