Abstract

Employee appraisal is one of the most significant tools of personnel management. A correctly designed appraisal process has a direct connection to productivity of employees and subsequently to a company’s welfare. Employee appraisal may be regarded as an effective motivation tool. It has to be conducted by competent persons who are in the closest contact with the employees, thus ensuring feedback for their work performance. The results of the appraisal enter into many other spheres of human resource management, above all the remuneration, education and training, personal development and repositioning.
