Abstract
With population growth increases, there is an increasing demand for fish meat and the production of fish from natural conditions are no longer able to cover the growth. Recirculation aquaculture systems get more attention not only because of increased demand, but also this kind of fish farming is very environmentally friendly. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the activity of the filters on an experimentally built recirculating aquaculture system. Thesis is focused on the biological filter and integration of the root cleaner into recirculation. The measurements were realized in a fully functional experimental breeding of rainbow trout and the verification was carried out under the operating conditions on a farm specializing in the breeding of rainbow trout. The result of the thesis points to the advantageous incorporation of the root treatment plant in the process of purifying the waste water recirculating from the system. Furthermore, the work verifies the correct functioning during the start of the biological filter. The achieved facts can be used in the construction of new recirculating aquaculture systems in the Czech Republic.
