Abstract
Poverty and income inequality are global problems of the world. Most of countries which poverty and income inequality afflict are in sub-Saharan Africa. The problem is so extensive that it is necessary to involve the entire human civilization in order to solve it. International organizations spend effort, but it still brings not completely positive results.
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the indicators of poverty and income inequality in sub-Saharan Africa and evaluate international aid to combat poverty and income inequality coming to African countries using Millennium development goals.
While many of African states have mineral wealth, statistical data show that only a few of them are able to use their wealth properly. Many countries suffer from extreme poverty (World Bank assesses the income of extremely poor as income under $ 1.25 per day), often in almost the whole range of its population. Although Millennium development goals were established in 2000, to reduce the number of poor and improve the quality of their life, it fails to comply because the international aid is not sufficient.
