Abstract

The Bachelor Thesis describes the history of the brown coal quarry Ležáky – Most, the extinction of old town Most and the relocation of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in town Most and the gradual development of this area, the implementation of remediation and reclamation and the emergence of a new landscape with the dominant water area - Lake Most. The Bachelor Thesis clarifies the issue of the water evaluation of Lake Most when the evaporation annually prevails over the amount of precipitation and tributaries from the catchment and the related necessity to refill the lake. The author also describes the consequences of a water level fluctuation in a relation to the main use of Lake Most and outlines a proposal for solving the issue.
