Abstract

This thesis focuses on microfluidic phytosynthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles. The theoretical part deals with green chemistry concept in nanotechnology, describes microfluidics and microfluidic devices, preparation of nanoparticles with respect to microfluidic phytosynthesis and factors influencing the resulting character of produced nanoparticles. The aim of the experimental part of the thesis was to perform pilot experiments of phytosynthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles on microfluidic platform. A simple microfluidic apparatus for phytosynthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles was constructed and resulting nanoparticles were characterized by UV-VIS spectrophotometer, transmission electron microscopy and zeta potential. In conclusion, future aspects of microfluidic phytosynthesis of nano-metals were described with respect to further applications in practice.
