Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the low-pressure casting of aluminum alloys and represents the individual areas related to the production process by this method. The practical part focuses on the casting of the axle arm and specifies the specifics associated with its production process. Furthermore, based on the experiment, the impact of the batch is investigated on the occurrence of defects in the casting in question. The experiment consists of three tests, the different test variants being different from the batch materials used. The part of the work is the evaluation of the tests, on the basis of which are subsequently proposed measures for reduction of scrap rate. The thesis also deals with possibilities of the optimization process of the casting under investigation.
