Abstract

Resume Use of Air Transport in Tourism and Its Influence on Regional Development in the Czech Republic Bc. Veronika Petřkovská Nowadays, tourism is a common part of the daily life of the countryʾs population, and very few can imagine that it would not be able to travel abroad. Tourism is a diverse sector that is of a great importance for reagional development of countries. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the development of tourism and to evaluate the use of passenger air transport and its impact on regional development in the Czech Republic. In this thesis, tourism and air transport are analysed as one of the most developing and most used ways of personal transport. Firstly, tourism is defined by competitivness indexes. After that air transport is analysed at European Union level and in the Czech Republic with the focus on Moravian-Silesian Region and Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport. In this diploma thesis, general theoretical methods of scientific research, selected mathematical-statictical and econometric methods, and a questionnare were used. It was found that the number of passengers transported by air transport and the number of tourists is increasing every year, and the air transport development and tourism contribute to regional development.
