Návrh metodiky hodnocení výkonnosti knihoven

Abstract

The aim of the Diploma Thesis is to create lists of libraries participating in the “Benchmarking of Libraries” project and which are divided into subsections in accordance with the population of either the city or the town in which the population is situated. Analysis of the current way of the library comparison on the base of benchmarking, finding of suitable methodology to assign weights to the given criteria and methodology of multi-criteria library evaluation are the prerequisites of the conclusion of the aim of the Diploma Thesis. Methodological solutions of data collection and reduction are described in next part of the Thesis. The main part of this chapter of the Thesis shows the theory of the methods of determining the scale of the decision-making criteria and the selection of the optimal version. The current way of library comparison on the base of benchmarking is analysed in the Empirical Part of the Thesis.Data sources are stated below as well as the variables used. The decision-making process is classified in accordance with the typology of decision-making processes and its particular parts are described there as well. The results show the library scales on the basis of seven factors in accordance with the AHP method. Library organization was done using Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and the SPSS 22.0 statistical software.
