Abstract

This master`s thesis deals with the prevention of serious accidents in conditions of the Czech Republic. The first part represents a general introduction to prevention of serious accidents. Basic terms are explained, literature research related to the prevention, early detection, and rapid response to an accident with hazardous substances is conducted and a list is presented of requirements for and options of appropriate emergency planning documentation in a company not covered by the Prevention of Serious Accidents Act. In the second part, current technical and organizational measures, and procedures in the event of a serious hazard accident in a selected company are revised and new measurements are suggested.
