Abstract

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to design and implement an automatic water management system in the operation of a screw manufacturing plant. The theoretical part describes the principle of water cooling and industrial control systems based on programmable logic controllers. The practical part describes the modernized system, including cooling water distribution and algorithms for controlling individual sections. Furthermore, a control system is described, which is built on a programmable logic controller by the manufacturer Siemens.
