Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on the law on gambling and its use on the issue of quiz machines. The aim of this work is to determine whether the selected skill game Pegasus is or is not a game of chance. The content of this work are also legal disputes between the company operating the game Pegasus and the customs office. The goal will be achieved through observation, comparison and logical induction. The theoretical part contains the history of the legal regulation of gambling and its gradual development in our territory with a focus on regulations since 2014. Furthermore, the basic concepts associated with the operation of gambling and taxes paid from these games. The practical part consists of a description of the skill and knowledge game Pegasus, an expert opinion, which proves that this game is not a game of chance and the disputes of the company operating the game Pegasus with the customs authorities. Also a judgment of the Supreme Administrative Court, which contains the designation of the responsible person. Based on the data obtained, it is therefore possible to state that the knowledge and skill game Pegasus is not a game of chance in the current legislation.
