Abstract

The thesis is focused on the behaviour of two-phase flow, specifically on the interaction of an equally large pair of gas bubbles in liquid counter-current flow. The theoretical part is oriented on dimensionless numbers as the way to describe a two phase flow system and also the factors affecting the system. The realization of the experiments is described in the experimental part. Experiments were carried in a glass conical tube as a part of the original apparatus. The movement of bubbles in different liquid was recorded on a high speed digital camera. The following image analysis provided us with the exact position of the tracked bubbles. The key aspects (radial and vertical distance, bubble pair relative velocity) are calculated from these coordinates. The results of the experimental part are presented as the maps showing the probability density function of the relative individual position of a pair of bubbles and graphs presenting the relative velocity of a pair of bubbles reliance on bubbles relative and vertical distance.
