Abstract
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to present a business plan for the establishment of a new restaurant that will be situated in Olomouc. The starting businessman is planning to arrange his business in a location that is known as the sports center of the city and that is why his restaurant will mainly focus on sports fans. The owner of this restaurant intends to build a concept of his restaurant on traditional Czech meals. The theoretical part of this thesis mainly focuses on defining of the fundamental terms, such as businessman and business. The next part of theory is then devoted to characterization of small and medium-sized businesses. Various forms of support that such businesses can apply for are also included in this part. The emphasis is also placed upon explaining the procedure of establishing of a new business and last but not least, several reasons are given as of why people are starting their business activies in the first place. The practical part of this bachelor thesis is devoted to generating of the business plan for a starting businessman, who has decided to open a restaurant. In the first segment of this practical part, his future business is described, all the important information about it is included there. There is also information about possible business opportunities, market research, marketing strategy and analysis of other restaurants that are located nearby. This analysis plays the key role for the businessman and helps him in planinng of his business acitivies. The greatest attention in this practical part is focused on the financial plan that is presented here altogether with the required indicators. The key purpose of this financial plan is to provide a businessman with information that show him if his business will not only be able to survive but more importanly, if his business will be able to prosper. In the end of this practical part, the SWOT analysis is utilized. The analysis elaborates on the strengths and weaknesses of a new business and it also reveals potential opportunities and threats that the businessman will have to encounter.
