Abstract

This doctoral thesis aims at optimizing the methodology of geophysical measurements using the electrical resistivity tomography method (ERT) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) in territories affected by slope deformations. Case studies and application areas were selected on the Outer Western Carpathians (Czech Republic). The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to 1) show the advantages and benefits of the relatively “new geoelectric methods" for the examination of slope deformation, 2) compare them with the standard and traditional geophysical methods and with other geotechnical studies, and 3) present accurate processing of measured data in the field for the appropriate analysis and objective interpretation of the results.
