Abstract

This thesis introduces waterfalls and rapids of the Moravian-Silesian Beskyd montains. The first part describes the Beskyd montains as a whole, its natural circumstances and the municipality in which the waterfalls and rapids are situated. The second part focuses for an explanation and division of waterfalls. Last but one part describes the selected waterfalls and rapids. There are chosen Satinske waterfalls, Bucaci waterfalls and Ostravicke rapids. Satinske waterfalls are located in Malenovickem area where is a area within 1 kilometre whit unusual concentration of geological and geormorfological phenomenons. These phenomenons are normally monitored on much larger area. Bucaci waterfalls are attractive for their height and slope steeps with inclination up to 45 degrees . Last selected area is Ostravicke rapids which reveals the tectonic contact Tesinsko-Hradistskeho layers and Frydlantskych layers and shows the structure of the outer Carpathian mountains.
