Abstract
This thesis deals with a comparison of properties of recycled slags with primary slag-forming materials.
The theoretical part deals with processing and usage of slags from abroad steel production, its recycling, steel production in electric arc furnaces and ladle furnaces. It also deals with molten steelmaking slag (its structure and properties) and other types of steelworks waste.
The experimental part focuses on laboratory experiments with slag samples from the electric arc furnace and secondary metallurgy collected in VHM, a.s. There is a conducted analysis of a chemical composition of slags, an elemental composition carried out with the help of an X-ray, determination of sulphur and carbon in the formula, density of the sample and viscosity measurement of the molten slags. Economical evaluation was also conducted. Evaluation of the results is to be found in the conclusion.
