Abstract

In recent years, Europe is increasingly beset by spectacular illegal migration flows. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of illegal migration, both across the European Union and the Czech Republic. In the first chapter is characterized the emergence and development of the Schengen area. The year 1995 can be considered as an outfall of the Schengen cooperation, when the border controls were first removed. Free movement of people without controls at borders has brought a negative factor in the form of illegal migration. However, freedom of movement of people has undergone several stages of development, which is described in the second chapter. Within the last chapter there are characterized and evaluated the illegal migration flows ongoing from third countries into the European Union and the Czech Republic based on an analysis during the reporting period.
