Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of optimizing the management of operational and technical functions in smart homes using the Internet of Things (IoT) concept. The theoretical part of the work analyzes current trends in home automation, building management standards, and communication protocols such as MQTT or HTTP. The main objective of the thesis is the practical implementation and integration of the robust KNX bus system with modern IoT technologies. The practical part of the work describes the configuration of the test workplace (KNX training case) in the ETS6 software environment and its subsequent integration into the Home Assistant platform. As part of the implementation, a system for monitoring and visualizing environmental variables, such as CO2 concentration, temperature, and relative humidity, was created. The obtained operational data are sent to a cloud environment, enabling remote analysis and serving as a basis for streamlining management processes within the smart home. The results of the work confirm that connecting stable industrial standards with flexible IoT platforms brings new possibilities for increasing building comfort and energy efficiency.
