Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis asseses the process of a gradual transformation of rail freight transport from the state-owned unitary company to a public limited company running a rail freight transport. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the economic, organizational and ownership transformation process and its outcome. The theoretical part explains the basic economic terms related to rail freight transport. The practical part analyses the transformation process of freight transport from ČD s.o. to ČD Cargo, a.s.
