Abstract
The topic of this work is the modernization of laboratory task, which is used to acquaint students with the problems of weight measurement using strain gauges. The work deals with principles and problems of work with strain gauges, production of three laboratory preparations and creation of desktop application.
Two of these preparations serve to demonstate the negative effects, which cause measuring errors. These influences include the inclination of the balance outside the horizontal plane, the influence of ambient temperature and the so-called strain gauge creep. The third product was created as an example of the possibility of measuring vibrations using strain gauges.
Desktop application is created in LabVIEW development environment. This application is used to collect data from strain gauges using a measuring card, to process, visualize and save them. The solution also includes a single board computer, which is used to control actuators and to collect data from sensors of measuring devices, where communication between it and visualization in the PC is solved by serial communication.
