Abstract

This thesis aims to create a tutorial, how to develop RIA using Microsoft Silverlight. The thesis is splitted into two parts. The first part consists of a map portal, designed for smaller municipalities, that is a self-functioning system as well as a teaching material, where from readers can draw on experience to create other similar applications. The second part will be a textbook, targeted on more experienced programmers who already have experience with creating web applications and Microsoft .NET technologies. As a whole, the tutorial aim is not only to introduce the principle of individual technologies and their usage, but especially explain their mutual interconnection.
