Abstract

The thesis deals with management of development projects, plan of technical development, and research and development activities of the enterprise TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a. s. The basic elements are innovations which represent the change in behavior of the enterprise. Innovations can concern several fields, a process, a product, a paradigm and a position, and their implementation should always be in accordance with the strategy of the enterprise. A manager can utilize various decision criteria, the net present value rule, the internal rate of return, or the profitability index for selection of the development project. The possibility of success may also be increased by patterns of innovative processes which create environment conducive to provide solutions to unexpected issues. The thesis conclusion is devoted to the assessment of current status and proposal for changes in the management process.
