Abstract

My bachelor thesis deals with standard track railway transportation and the use in the mining industry. Although the use of railway systems in the industry is declining, it still has an irreplaceable role in transporting to the target consumer. This is especially true in transporting large volumes of raw mined and processed coal, were railroad transportation has come to be the most efficient solution. The main target of this document is to describe the technical and construction features of rail transportation equipment and to highlight the main differences in the use of mining railway track, sidings and state railways.
