Zhodnocení provozu ČOV Ústí nad Orlicí a ideový návrh její intenzifikace v návaznosti na revizi Směrnice Rady 91/271/EHS

Abstract

This thesis evaluates the operation of the Ústí nad Orlicí Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and presents a conceptual proposal for its intensification in response to the requirements of new European legislation, particularly Directive EU 2024/3019. The work includes an analysis of the existing wastewater treatment technologies, operational parameters, and the treatment efficiency achieved. Based on identified deficiencies and updated legislative demands, a set of measures has been proposed, including the implementation of tertiary and quaternary treatment stages, with emphasis on nutrient and micropollutant removal. The possibility of achieving energy neutrality at the WWTP through the use of renewable energy sources and modern control systems has also been assessed. Investment costs have been estimated with an emphasis on minimizing the financial burden on end users. Finally, the thesis highlights opportunities for obtaining funding from national and European programmes, such as the Modernisation Fund and the Operational Programme Environment.
