Abstract

The thesis is focused on the issue of spacial layout. The objective is to create a proposal for a new layout of an operation, with emphasis on the incorporation of new machines in existing technical solutions. This thesis is divided into two main sections: a theoretical-methodological section and practical section. Section 1 focuses on characteristics of logistic processes theoretical background. And, the methodological component contains labor studies characteristics and material flow analysis, including layout methods. Section 2 focuses on various methodical applications, i.e. checkerboard chart, triangular network, Sankey diagram and work studies, with emphasis on analyzing current operation and evaluation arrangement of material flow. The outcome of the practical section is two variants of a new layout operation's conceptual design that were evaluated using multi-criteria analysis. The final draft was presented to company management and currently serves as the basis for decision-making and management.
