Abstract
The thesis is focused on radioactive contamination and comparing measurement devices for detecting the surface beta activity. The theoretical part provides an explanation of basic concepts of ionizing radiation, describes the effects of ionizing radiation on the human body, refers to methods of protection against radiation and provides an overview of possible types of radioactive contamination. The used devices to detecting and monitoring surface activity are described. In the experimental part, the values of beta surface activity were measured with DC-3E-98, RadEye and DC-3H-08 and compared with each other. Standard deviation and measurement accuracy were evaluated and calculated.
