Abstract

This diploma thesis focuses on purchasing and sales. In order to improve the purchasing techniques, primarily the quality of the forecasting, a detailed ABC analysis was carried out. The results of this analysis were crucial for performing XYZ analysis and determining the seasonality of the sales. In the thesis, several methods of sales forecasting were applied. The outcomes of respective methods were then compared to the actual sales data and consequently, the most appropriate method was selected. The contribution of this paper is the determination of the safety stock and the reorder point for individual groups of products specified by the ABC analysis.
