Abstract

Quality used to be understood in terms of technical, physical, chemical or mechanical parameters. This way of understanding quality is, however, obsolete and it can not meet the ever increasing requirements and expectations of customers of the contemporary consumer society. A product is considered to be a quality one if it provides all the functions it was created for. Quality management tools represent the basic methods which are used to increase the quality of production processes and they also help us to determine what state the monitored problem is in, as well as they help us to reveal the priorities which should be solved and also to find the cause of the monitored problem. The objective of the Bachelor Thesis is the analysis of these methods and the evaluation of their usability. Assessment of their potential use in the industrial practice is an important aspect too. The Thesis should also provide an opportunity for thinking about the importance of quality management processes in the present period of time.
