The first part deals with the definition of first aid and comparison of first aid before and today. The second part deals with the history of first aid for fire brigades before and during World War II. The third part focuses on the history of first aid for fire brigades after World War II to the present. The fourth part deals with available teaching materials on first aid for fire brigades from the end of World War II to the present. The fifth part is devoted to the analysis and comparison of these materials and the sixth part is devoted to assessing the suitability of current approaches to teaching first aid to fire brigades and defining the strengths and weaknesses of this training.
