Abstract

The thesis deals with an utilization of constructed and natural wetlands for purification of wastewaters from individual households. These days, constructed wetlands are a very popular way of a wastewater treatment in individual households. Mainly constructed wetlands with the horizontal subsurface flow, which can be supplemented with a polishing biological pond, are used for these purposes. Their main advantage compared to the usual domestic wastewater treatment are low operating costs, low energy requirements and a posibility of intermittent operation.
