Abstract
This Bachelor Thesis hereof includes assessment of current use of purely object-oriented programming language Smalltalk, its attractiveness for programmers and a brief description of utilising its implementation Squeak for training on the object-oriented programmes. Additionally the Thesis focuses on programming history, development and basic principles of object-oriented programmes and analyses in detail the history of some key, object-oriented programming languages. A marginal topic also deals with problems at creation of the object-oriented databases which were established as a response to constantly increasing popularity of the object-oriented programmes and therefore existing need to save object data.
