Abstract

This Thesis is focused on metal foams. The expansion of usage metal foams become with new production technologies. Thanks to unique combination of properties (low weight, high rigidity, high temperature conductivity, chemical resistance) find this material usage in many kinds of industry. The therotical part contains the description of metal foams properties and also there are some of production technologies. Practical part is focused on the production technology of metal foams using the precursors. The aim is production of precursors using materials that are ordinary used in foundry. So as the material of the precursor was selected the self-hardening furam mixture, which still belongs to well used mixture in Czech republic. Some casts was maked by using precursors from this mixture. On this casts was made metallographic analysis.
