Dostavba Masarykova náměstí v Ostravě

Abstract

The assignment of the diploma thesis focuses on finding a new use for the undeveloped area next to Masaryk Square. The aim of the design is to use the space on the site of the former block demolished in the late 1950s. This diploma thesis includes a proposal for an urban and architectural solution. The result is a new residential building with an active ground floor that responds to the location of the historical center. The design responds materially to the surrounding development and functionally to the issue of housing in the center of Ostrava.
