Abstract

This work is focused on the production of pig iron to reduce CO2 emissions. In the introductory part of this thesis are presented the theoretical knowledge of the production of pig iron and its further processes. The following section analyzes the literature of foreign authors, who also dealt with the optimization of pig iron production with regard to the impact on the environment. However, minimizing CO2 production in the metallurgical industry does not only consist in the use of substitute fuels but involves a much wider range of possible measures.
