Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with animal protection legislation in the Czech Republic. It is focused on animals living in captivity, that is livestock, pets and animals used for experiments. The first chapter summarizes animal protection law sources. It mainly analyzes Act No. 246/1992 Coll., Animal Protection. The second part applies this legislation to a concrete case of animal cruelty. For this purpose, the case of Dana Záhorská was chosen. This woman is accused of cruelty to forty dogs. The third part of the bachelor thesis is a journalistic processing of the subject. The aim of the work is to detail animal protection legislation in the Czech Republic and to point out some of the shortages.
