Abstract

This work treats of life in Brno coffee lounges. In the first part there is a definition of coffee origin and how quickly it has got to Europe till to Brno city. After that follows a detailed description of coffee lounges equipment and their offer. There is also illustrated a coffee lounge function in society. In the next chapter is about the most considerable coffee lounges since the end of 19 century to the second world wars. In this part the chapter about interwar epoch is about that was big expansion for Brno´s coffee lounges. Nevertheless after the second world war came failure for these coffee lounges thanks to authoritarianism. It brought a change of function or total doom of some coffee lounges. In the last part is presented like a traveller´s guide for coffee lounges.
