Abstract
This thesis deals with the importance of the public water supply system as an important multipurpose source of fire water for the capital city of the Czech Republic - Prague. The water distribution system of the Prague agglomeration is demonstrated here and the weaknesses of its individual parts are highlighted. Furthermore, the existing and proposed new measures to eliminate these weaknesses are recapitulated. The work deals with the problem of water supply disruption to individual segments of the multipurpose source of fire water (pressure zones) and proposes measures that would be able to ensure the operation of the distribution network by substitution from another functional segment during emergency situations. In the chapter Pressure Bands, measures are proposed on a specific example of a part of a multipurpose source of fire water, which lead to an increase of its reliability. The aim of the work is to propose a measure that would make water supply more efficient for the needs of the firefighters in the given locality.
