Abstract

The present work is focused on aplication of nitrogen in a flushing technology used in gobs and galerie in deep mining. Here is described the historical development of inertization in Czech and international mining industry including options of gases which are applicable to gas inertization and their advantages and disadvantages. Author of the thesis describes basic application of nitrogen gas to the cases for preventive inertization, inertization for suppression of spontaneous combustion and repression of underground fires. The next part deals with the technical means for the production of nitrogen gas, its transportation to fires, control and measuring technology, and then deals with the means for inertization during driving of underground roads, operation of longwall faces and cloasing of underground spaces. Diploma work describes the aerodynamics and permeability of gobs and application of computer program CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic ) FLUENT 6.0. The efficacy of economy of the nitrogen technology is assessed based on a calculation without application of nitrogen and with application of this technology. The growing trend in consumption of nitrogen gas and the increasing demands on the consumption of gaseous nitrogen is assessed.
