Abstract

KRHUTOVÁ, Kateřina. The Competitiveness of the Czech Republic. VŠB-TU Ostrava, EF, 2012. Thesis Supervisor: prof. Ing. Karel Skokan, Ph.D., Diploma thesis. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the competitive position of the Czech Republic in international comparison. Partial goal is the comparison of the position of the CR with the EU. The second chapter is focused on the theoretical definition of the competitiveness at different levels. There are presented factors of competitiveness and competitive advantage. The third chapter deals with the various approaches of assessment of competitiveness, in detail according to the World Economic Forum and International Institute for Management Development. The evaluation of the European Union Lisbon Strategy indicators and of Europe 2020 is presented. The fourth chapter is the practical part, it is focused on the evaluation of the competitiveness of the Czech Republic in time and within the EU.
