Regionální politika a její vliv na vývoj vybraných regionů ve Spolkové republice Německo

Abstract

This diploma thesis is focused on regional policy and its effect on regions of Federal Republic of Germany. It is divided into three parts. In this thesis the development of regional policy since 50’s till nowadays, its use and realization in the Federal Republic of Germany is described. The structure of regions, programming documents and instruments implemented to reduce the differences among regions on the national as well as federal level, are defined in greater details. Further attention is given to two particular states - Lower Saxony and Saxon. Lower Saxony originally used to be a part of West Germany and it is divided into four regions (Braunschweig, Hannover, Lüneburg, Weser-Ems). Saxony took part of East Germany and consists of three regions (Chemnitz, Dresden, Leipzig). The subject of this thesis is the comparison of these two states of Germany and their regions respecting the selected indicators.
