Abstract

BUCHA, M.: Apartment Building Marian Gate, Ostrava-Mariánské Hory, Kalvodova Street, Bachelor Thesis. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical university of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Architecture, 2021. Bachelor Thesis supervisor: Ing. arch. The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the creation of part of the implementation documentation for the construction of the apartment building Marian Gate in Ostrava-Mariánské Hory in Kalvodova Street. It is an architecturally unfortunate locality, where a larger corner house was to be built in a city block during the First Czechoslovak Republic period, but only a small part of it was built and the rest of the land was built up in ugly garages in the 1980s. The work deals with the design of the construction of an apartment building on the site of these garages to make the city block closed. The seven-storey apartment building is designed as fully barrier-free. It offers 5 three-room apartments with an area of 72 m2 and 4 three-room apartments with an area of 90 m2. In addition, each apartment has one cellar with an area of 2.5 m2. Due to the shape and layout of the surrounding buildings, a building connects the gable walls of three different houses. The height of the building intentionally exceeds the surrounding buildings because the height of them is very disunited. The apartment building thus forms a local landmark and with its stride over Hynaisova Street, it creates a kind of entrance gate to the Camilo Sitte’s urban core of Mariánské Hory. The bachelor thesis was processed based on the architectural study created in the subject "Studio work I.", modified study created in the subject "Studio work V." and project documentation for a building permit created in the subject "Studio creation Va."
