Thesis is focused on the assessment of the preparedness of emergency medical services for events involving carbon monoxide. Introduction is devoted to familiarization with the problem, describes the sources and causes of carbon monoxide, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of these poisonings. It evaluates the current state of binding legislation and standards related to this issue. Consequently, obtained statistical data are given and described. The following section is devoted to public awareness. The final chapter is dedicated to the preparedness of emergency medical services and appropriate steps to improve the current situation are designed.
